Providence Hotels today welcomes Franschhoek Country House & Villas to its growing global portfolio of hotels and guest houses. The hospitality management company, which first opened its doors in Stellenbosch before expanding internationally, has always retained a strong footprint in South Africa’s Cape Winelands region, particularly in the luxury boutique sector. As such both Providence Hotels and Franschhoek Country House & Villas are delighted with the operational synergies that will be created through this new partnership.
Providence Hotels’ relationship with Franschhoek Country House & Villas first began in 2022 when Providence Hotels marketing agency, Quivertree Digital Hospitality Solutions, began to assist with digital marketing services for the hotel. The relationship between the companies grew and Franschhoek Country House & Villas has now entered into a full management contract with Providence Hotels.
Situated in Franschhoek, South Africa’s food and wine capital, Franschhoek Country House & Villas has been operating as a family business for more than 20 years. The 25-room, five-star hotel draws clients back year after year due to the luxurious accommodation options that it offers, its central location in the Cape Winelands, its personal service, and its excellent cuisine. The acclaimed in-house restaurant, Monneaux, overlooks Franschhoek Country House & Villa’s Provencal-style gardens and serves up an array of fine dining dishes paired with wines from the Franschhoek Valley and surrounds.
“Franschhoek has captured the hearts and minds of so many local and international travellers and Franschhoek Country House & Villas has been entertaining and accommodating them for more than two decades. We are very excited to bring this amazing Franschhoek boutique hotel icon into our growing quality portfolio and we look forward to being a part of its future growth story and success” says Neil Hughes, Managing Director of Providence Hotels South Africa.
Owner-manager of Franschhoek Country House & Villas, Juanita Snyman, agreed saying that she was pleased that the hotel would retain its individual character while at the same time benefiting from greater exposure and a wider reach within Providence Hotels portfolio. “We are still who we are, we are just strengthening our house,” she explained. Juanita said that the hotel would continue to work closely with its travel trade partners, adding that the trade’s support had been a key contributor to the hotel’s ongoing success over the years.
